Overheard in the Galleries
What you can hear as a Museum Assistant guarding artwork The Phillips Collection galleries:
During the 2009 exhibit, “Paint Made Flesh,” a young teen girl viewing with her parents Lucian Freud’s 1991-92 oil painting of a fat, bald, naked man, says ”Oh, look Dad. A painting of you,” to which the father responds, “Naw, I’m not bald.”
